Car and motorcycle ownership goes back a long way in history. Over time, groups of like-minded individuals formed an inherent love of certain car and motorcycle brands and models; classic and exotic alike. It’s the fun of owning one and a great way to meet other enthusiasts! These enthusiasts have come together to form clubs centered around those specific vehicles, bikes, brands, or activities. Traditionally the clubs involve regular meetings but with the growth of modern technology many now use the internet and have very active on-line communities which continue to grow. With Facebook and Instagram, it’s so easy to create a group, share photos, and chat with other members.
Technology also provides members the opportunity to make themselves reachable when they’re out on the streets in, or on their pride and joy. More on this later.
The number of car and motorcycle clubs are countless
It’s difficult to find a comprehensive list of the all the different clubs that currently exist, but it’s really easy to find a club that meets your specific interest. Just Google it!
We did a quick search for both car and motorcycle clubs solely in Ontario. The list is extensive. We don’t know if all the groups are still active but if they are, there is definitely a club that exists for you! Can you imagine how many clubs exist in all of Canada or North America? It could be in the thousands.
The Windshieldink app connects enthusiasts
Windshieldink is a free mobile app and messaging platform. The app allows anyone to make themselves reachable via their license plate number. The original intent of the platform is to make life better for all motor vehicles owners to be notified from the street. For example, if a person’s car is being towed, a car alarm is going off, a person is selling a car, or someone notices a mechanical problem with a car. These are just a few benefits of license plate messaging.
Car and motorcycle enthusiasts can take advantage of our license plate messaging platform for more than just the reasons above. The app can be used for communication with other enthusiasts who want to make themselves reachable to like-minded aficionados, car and motorcycle club members, or anyone who appreciates a cool looking car or bike.
Give a compliment or two!
A great example for car enthusiasts. Toronto hosts an annual exotic car show on Bloor Street. Participants that put their cars on display can register their licence plate number with Windshieldink. Any showgoer with the app can send a personal message to the car owner simply using the license plate number. Compliment the owner of that lambo or rarri!
The same applies to motorcycle enthusiasts. Anyone attending a motorcycle show like the Toronto Motorcycle Spring Show or Vintage Custom and Antique Motorcycle Show, a poker run, swap meet, bike night, or charity ride can use the plate number of the bike to send the owner a message. Tell someone you like their chopper! Messaging is all anonymous. If the message sender wants to make contact with you, they can include their name and number in the message. You can even have back and forth chat using the in-app chat function.
The Windshieldink app is a simple and great way for members of the car and bike communities to connect with each other! Download it on the App Store and get it on Google Play. It’s free to download, free to register your wheels and free to send messages!
