We were recently on a very long road trip, meaning we had plenty of time to listen to music and talk radio. Talk radio is great but you can only listen to it for so long. When it comes time to relax, enjoy the open roads, and make the trip less boring, turn on the tunes, roll down the windows, and crank up the volume!
While having an iPod is great, there does come a time when you get tired of your own playlists and want a change of beat. Luckily we all have car radios and there are plenty of stations to tune into. You might even hear a classic song or two that brings back memories of a your first high school date, summer fun at the lake, or a song with an energy lifting beat that might cause the gas pedal to drop. Next time someone races past you well over the speed limit, you might wonder what they are listening to at that moment. Bottom line is, watch your own speed!
Thanks for sending us your picks!
As we journeyed on down the highway, our conversation moved on to our own top 10 favorite road trip songs of all time and whether we should write a blog on it. Why not! We compiled some of our favorites and some favorites sent in from a shout out to our readers in our July newsletter. Thanks to everyone who sent in their fave’s!
In no particular order, here are the top ten picks;
2. Drive – Joe Bonamassa
3. Highway Star – Deep Purple
4. Roll On Down The Highway – BTO
5. Life Is A Highway – Tom Cochrane
8. Running On Empty – Jackson Browne

Everyone’s taste in music varies. As you can see, most of our favorites trend towards the classic rock genre. Like they say … you’re never too old for rock’n roll …
We’re curious what a millennial driving song list would include; we’d love to hear it.
